Mid-Hudson Teacher Center: Climate Solutions 101 for Educators

In the coming decade, public school educators will play a pivotal role in helping their students become active participants in understanding and addressing climate change. Join NY Master Teacher Emeritus and Climate educator Samrat Pathania as he facilitates a solutions-oriented approach. He will introduce major frameworks which illustrate how society can move away from fossil fuels and improve overall public/ecosystem/economic health. Samrat will also discuss how the recently passed Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 will get us closer to our climate goals. Course activities will reflect on the information presented and culminate with each participant creating a specific framework to begin addressing climate solutions with their students. This program is being presented as part of Sustainable Hudson Valley's Climate Solutions Week 2022, and is part of an ongoing collaboration with the DCBOCES Center for Sustainability and Climate Education and the NY State Master Teacher Program. NOTE: Master Teachers who are looking to get program credit MUST register for this workshop through the Master Teacher Program. They should NOT register through this MHTC Frontline listing for CTLE or In-service credit.
